Yellow Pond Lillies grow in Gazzam Lake on Bainbridge Island. They support
a fair amount of small wildlife, such as water striders and western red
legged frogs. The raccoons love to eat them and they destroy our ponds
each winter. These are in a 10' diameter pond 4-12" deep, with about
4-6 hours
of sunshine. Ours came from Gazzam Lake in 2005 by permission of BIPRD.
The lily grows from the head of a pinapple diameter sized core, slowly
increasing in length until it exceeds 10'.
