This work was inspired by Greek pottery and mosaic.  The dark glazes and marine imagery is so refined and elegant it is difficult to do them justice.  These vases (there were 6) were blown with seven layers of glass, the outer coating being opaque.  The glass was then carved through the black glass with a relief of dolphins and waves of exposed blue and white glass.  The work becomes quite powerful when illuminated from above.
