The medusa of the jellyfish are the ocean's most delicate and beautiful animals.  Near Dolphin Place lies the Norwegian-American fishing hamlet of Poulsbo and there, in the summer, great swarms of jellyfish gather.

This work was inspired by night time walks on the fishing docks of Liberty Bay, off Poulsbo, where medusa floating on the surface
waters are visible in the lights of the wooden hulled boats.  The slow beating of their wispy arms are contrasted with the deep blue of the sea.
