Al Philips uses many different techniques in his architectural installations. Leaded glass, using lead channel, is most appropriate in locations requiring shock resistance, such as exterior doors and windows. Work needing detail is done in the copper-foil technique developed by Louis Tiffany. Difficult images are often created by Al by making his own glass in fusing kilns. He also custom bevels and engraves glass pieces to be inserted in his work.
Dolphin Place has a fabrication shop and complete wood studio, reducing overall cost to the client. Windows can be placed against or inside thermopane glass, retrofitted for modification of existing homes or designed for custom home and business sites. We have worked with over 50 builders and architects on Bainbridge and have done over 500 installations.
