Cattail typha latifolia
Cattails are common on Bainbridge, growing in full sun and where water stands for part of the year. The cattails of the Tree Garden come from the drainage ditch along Highway 305 and Koura Rd on the Island. Thickets of cattails can be found at a number of locations and harbor red-wing blackbirds.
